Virtual Paint Party Supply List

Thinking of hosting a virtual paint party? Check out this suggested list of supplies to get started.

 Acrylic Paint

I would suggest starting with the primary colors  - red, blue, yellow, white, and  black.  If you are hosting a virtual paint party with Arie Debren Art, I will show you how to mix any other colors we may need. Walmart has a good selection of colors to choose from. Or, you can of course hit up your local Michael's or Hobby Lobby.

Paint Brushes

You can usually find these for pretty cheap in a multipack at Walmart, Michael's,  Hobby Lobby, or any store that sells arts and crafts. Don't go too cheap, though.  I would not suggest getting brushes from the dollar store as the bristles are usually plastic. Plastic bristles make it hard for your paint to apply smoothly.

Canvas

I think the cheapest canvases I've found have been the Daler-Rowney Stretched Canvas. They usually come in a pack of 2 or 3 which is great if you have friends joining you for the paint party in person. Feel free to check any other store that sells arts and crafts for your canvas needs. I just know Walmart sells them for the low. If you are hosting your paint party with Arie Debren Art, check with your host for the exact Canvas size. It will more than likely be an 11x14 or 16x20.

Easel (optional)

I list this as an optional item because you could technically lay your canvas on a table or prop it up against something and start painting. An easel will make things a little easier though.  I've seen some reasonably priced table easels on Amazon. There is absolutely no reason to buy a full size easel (unless you just want to). A table easel will work perfectly fine.

Paint Palette

BUYING a palette is optional.  But you will most definitely need something to put your paint on. Even if you purchase paint in the little tubs, you'll will still need a place to mix colors so you don't contaminate your tubs. A paper plate would work great. Plus, once you're done creating your masterpiece,  you can just throw your palette in the trash.

Some other things to keep in mind:
- wear something you don't mind getting paint on
- cover your work surface with newspaper or and old sheet
- have a cup of water handy for cleaning your brushes (don't confuse it with your wine glass!)
- HAVE FUN!
